media lab hosted a roundtable discussion on Wednesday 26 October 2022, in virtual format, titled “Breathe in, breathe out: 1st reactions to the European Media Freedom Act”.

The importance of media freedom and online freedoms in general has never been more evident than today.

The media freedom project, including its series of video podcasts and Xchanges, aims to trigger exchanges and innovative thoughts around these topics, which are at the core of many EU and national policy discussions.

By talking to experts and stakeholders, media lab intends to feed into discussions on media sustainability, innovation and independence, such as the ones expected in Brussels around the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA).

The media lab. project aims to create a constructive debate around media sustainability & independence, and the impact on fundamental rights.

The core objective is to inform policy makers in the EU and beyond, as well as key stakeholders.

C4C brings together libraries, scientific and research institutions, digital rights groups, technology businesses, and educational and cultural heritage institutions that share a common view on creativity and copyright.
